About the Artist
"I started a project a few years back generating artworks programmatically, sometimes using images as sources for the colour palette. That digital project has now moved off on its own tangent, however I've been making more grid paintings recently and I've got plans and ideas for more of these and to develop them further. This painting, Calendulaceum, takes its name from a Rhododendron that the colour palette was based on. I generated the layout algorithmically and then reproduced that result in oil. I've always been interested in colour combinations and using oil paint in a graphical way, so these paintings have felt like a natural counterpart to other, more figurative abstract work that I also make. Check out my insta @harry.edmond for more of this sort of thing."
