About the Artist:
Emily Lucas lives and works in Stroud, Gloucestershire. She is currently undertaking a PhD, researching the function of drawing as an autobiographical act.

Drawing, stitch and simple print processes lie at the heart of Emily’s practice. She is interested in the inadequacy of language to communicate thought process and interior experience, utilising gaps, fragments, repetitions and strange pairings to create alternative narratives and ambivalent meanings.
